Summary

The Director Licensing & Commissions role is a leadership position responsible for enhancing the end-to-end experience for agents. The focus is on continuous process improvement across licensing and commission administration, ensuring operational excellence and regulatory compliance while managing a team dedicated to agent onboarding, licensing, and compensation.

Major Duties And Responsibilities

• Lead agent onboarding and appointment processes ensuring state and internal compliance.
• Manage agent contracting workflows, background checks, training, and hierarchy setups.
• Oversee commission structures, system testing, and compensation changes.
• Coordinate with Legal, Marketing, and Finance for renewals and debit balances.
• Audit vendor performance and monitor internal processes for improvement.
• Drive process automation initiatives and system enhancements with IT.
• Manage team performance through coaching, training, and strict operational standards.
• Oversee budgeting for staff, vendors, and state appointment fees.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Direct supervision of staff responsible for agent maintenance and marketing support functions.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations, or related field.
• 7+ years in operations within insurance, financial services, or regulated industries.
• Extensive experience in agent contracting, licensing, and commission administration.
• Strong understanding of insurance distribution models and administrative systems.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools such as Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Physical Requirements
