Your Role as a Credit Risk Analyst at Prosper Marketplace
Join Prosper’s Credit Risk Management Department as a Credit Risk Analyst. This dynamic team leverages advanced analytics, cutting-edge data, and innovative techniques to develop credit strategies, driving automated credit decisions within Prosper’s online marketplace. As a Credit Risk Analyst, you will apply advanced statistical techniques, algorithms, and industry tools to predict and prevent credit risk associated with Prosper Personal Loans and Credit Cards. We seek candidates with strong hands-on analytical skills and a passion for solving complex problems efficiently and effectively. We are open to hiring at a Sr. Credit Risk Analyst or Credit Risk Analyst level, based on experience:
- Sr. Analyst: Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or Master's degree with 3+ years of experience.
- Analyst: Bachelor's or higher degree with 2+ years of relevant experience.
How You'll Make An Impact
- Develop and optimize credit strategies to enhance credit performance using data, machine learning models, and advanced analytics tools.
- Lead end-to-end risk and analytics strategy for Prosper's Credit Card, from pre-launch to portfolio optimization, including underwriting policies, pricing and credit line strategies, and acquisition frameworks that balance growth targets with risk parameters.
- Propose innovative solutions and approaches to problem-solving.
- Design A/B tests and analyze risk-return trade-offs.
- Collaborate with Product, Marketing, and Engineering teams for strategy implementation and monitoring.
- Continuously innovate by testing new data sources, analytical methods, and models.
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis related to risk management, investor services, product, and operations.
- Analyze portfolio performance at a granular segment level, identifying trends and conducting root-cause analysis.
- Clearly communicate findings and recommendations to the Risk Management team and the broader Prosper community.
Skills That Will Help You Thrive
- Sr. Analyst level: Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Economics with 5+ years of relevant experience in credit/fraud risk, OR a Master's degree in these areas with 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Analyst level: Bachelor's degree in the above areas with 2+ years of relevant experience in credit/fraud risk, OR a Master's degree in these areas with less experience.
- Experience in credit risk management, fraud, and/or data science in the consumer lending industry; consumer credit card experience is a significant advantage.
- Background in product launches, new portfolio buildout, or go-to-market analytics is a plus.
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using machine learning and statistical models for strategy development.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and Tableau is essential. Knowledge of R and Knowledge Seeker is a plus.
- Experience with Fiserv and/or FICO fraud tools is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining technical subjects clearly to various audiences.
- Knowledge and experience in segmentation, statistical procedures, and financial analytic tools.
