Role Overview

The Senior Analytics Engineer at Cheers, hired in partnership with Proppel, is a foundational, high-impact role responsible for redesigning and modernizing the company’s data warehouse architecture. The role transforms a legacy data environment into a scalable analytics platform using a Bronze, Silver, Gold architecture. This position eliminates manual reporting bottlenecks and enables self-service analytics across various departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Redesign and modernize the data warehouse architecture.
• Implement and maintain Bronze, Silver, Gold data layers.
• Develop and optimize data models with advanced SQL practices.
• Work with ELT pipelines and transformation frameworks such as dbt.
• Introduce data quality checks, documentation, and governance standards.
• Consolidate business logic from spreadsheets into the warehouse.
• Enable reliable, business-ready reporting for Growth, Finance, and Operations.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to define key metrics.
• Contribute to long-term data strategy and scalability.

Required Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience with modern cloud data warehouses (Redshift, Snowflake, or BigQuery), advanced SQL and data modeling expertise, building and maintaining ELT pipelines, and working with tools like dbt. Must be comfortable working independently in a remote setting and communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Experience

Experience with DTC or e-commerce companies, modernizing legacy data environments, and exposure to platforms such as Shopify, Amazon Seller Central, Meta Ads, Google Ads, or Klaviyo.
