Position Overview

We are seeking a well-versed Software Development Manager who is passionate about building the right solutions for customers. In this role, you will help Propio grow and evolve both technically and as a business.

Responsibilities

  • Lead ambiguous problems to resolution with uncertainty.
  • Build a world-class team by hiring, coaching, and developing engineers.
  • Manage, grow and promote internal engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with leadership, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to define vision and strategy.
  • Drive execution of programs from design to rollout.
  • Communicate regularly with senior management on status and risks.
  • Coordinate with customers and technical staff to deliver complex features.
  • Manage cross-functional projects balancing business needs and technical constraints.
  • Collaborate effectively within a cross functional IT organization.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • 4 - 7 years of experience building and managing local and remote engineering teams (including managing managers) designing large volume distributed systems on AWS (or Azure).
  • Expertise in Agile/Scrum SDLC processes.
  • Experience in system design and architecture across multiple patterns.
  • Proficiency in multiple stacks, frameworks, and languages (Java, JavaScript, messaging protocols, web services).
  • Experience delivering high-volume distributed web-based and mobile applications (iOS/Android).
  • Strong project planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years as a software engineer with hands-on development and architecture experience.
  • Experience with object-oriented design and development.
