Position Overview
The Proofreader at Propelis is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and consistency of copy, art, legal disclaimers, typography, and design/type specifications. The role involves verifying that all internal and client changes are executed correctly throughout various production stages.
Job Responsibilities
- Attend daily/weekly team meetings to discuss workflow.
- Check client proofs and internal reviews for accuracy in copy, math, art, typography, and pagination details.
- Review legal restrictions and ensure compliance at all process stages.
- Coordinate with the Folio Team to update the Master Folio.
- Evaluate performance at proof stages and collect data.
- Maintain current legal requirements and prioritize tasks based on schedule.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Experience in proofreading simple copy, math, art, and typography.
- Ability to prioritize tasks based on work schedules.
- Experience preparing packages and maintaining freelancer databases.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; 0-2 years of experience.
- Willingness to assist team members and embrace learning opportunities.

Work Arrangement & Compensation
This is a remote position available in the US (with some state exceptions). The role is part of the Flex Force, operating on a flexible project-based contract. Compensation ranges from $16 to $18 hourly based on location and experience.
