AI Trainer, Visual & Graphic Design Expert at Prolific
Prolific is seeking highly skilled Professional Graphic and Visual Designers to serve as Domain Experts for an advanced AI evaluation project. As AI models evolve to handle complex design tasks such as layout, typography, and information hierarchy, Prolific requires experts who can assess the professional utility, readability, and structural integrity of AI-generated design outputs. This is a flexible, ad hoc freelance opportunity where your professional discernment will directly influence the AI's understanding of design principles.
What You'll Be Doing
- Side-by-side preferences: Evaluate two candidate designs (e.g., Google Slides, posters, or advertisements) on the same topic and determine which better meets professional standards.
- Expert analysis: Judge candidates based on specific design dimensions, including readability, text density, information hierarchy, and overall professionalism.
- Edit-Request verification: Review "before and after" style tasks to determine which AI output better satisfied a specific design edit or change request.
- Experimental tasks: Participate in new, narrow tasks aimed at refining how AI handles concise visual communication.
What You'll Bring
- Professional design credentials: You must possess a formal education in Graphic/Visual Design complemented by at least 1 year of professional experience, OR 5+ years of high-level experience working with professional clients.
- Technical literacy: Familiarity with industry-standard design tools like Figma, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator. While not actively designing, comfort with associated concepts and terminology is crucial.
- A critical eye: The ability to differentiate between "consumer-grade" and "enterprise-ready" content, ensuring professional and highly readable outputs.
- Portfolio: A valid link to your portfolio or work samples is mandatory during the screening process.
Bonus Points
- Experience in Interaction Design or Motion Graphics.
- A background in Brand Building, Advertising, or Marketing.
Important Information
The use of Large Language Models (LLMs) or other generative AI tools to complete the onboarding study or evaluation tasks is strictly prohibited and will lead to disqualification.
