Overview

As our first hire in this domain at Productboard, you’ll join as a key leader shaping our approach to data infrastructure. You will build systems that make data storage efficient, scalable, and reliable to empower engineers, product teams, and analytics.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate with engineers to optimize transactional and non-transactional databases.
  • Design and evolve data storage strategies with varied technologies.
  • Architect scalable, secure, and cost-efficient storage solutions.
  • Build and enhance ETL/data pipelines for versatile data needs.
  • Implement governance, indexing, partitioning, and access controls.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align technical and business strategies.

What We Are Looking For

We seek a highly experienced technical leader with strategic thinking and strong collaboration skills:

  • 5+ years in data, storage, or platform roles.
  • Expertise in multiple data storage technologies (cloud-native, NoSQL, data warehouses, hybrid systems).
  • Strong data architecture design, performance tuning, and storage optimization skills.
  • Hands-on experience with query engines, ETL pipelines, and data infrastructure.
  • Platform-oriented mindset focusing on standardization and scalability.

Your Tech Stack

  • SQL and programming languages (Ruby, Kotlin, Java) for development.
  • Familiarity with both transactional and analytical databases.
  • Experience with query engine optimization and distributed storage architectures.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Kubernetes).
  • Understanding of data governance and security best practices.
