Director, Public Sector Technology
Government Sourcing Solutions (GovSourcing), a Procure Analytics, Co., is a national consulting firm comprised of former public-sector procurement, technology, and administrative leaders. Our team creates value and solves problems for the public sector through the adoption of best practice cooperative contracts, strategic technology initiatives, and by adding value to administrative and general services objectives. We partner with suppliers that provide these contract solutions, and our field team spends time working with these suppliers and the chief procurement officers, chief information officers, and chief administrative officers across the public sector (SLED - states, cities, counties, higher education, and K12) every day to adopt cooperative contracts and complete strategic goals and objectives.
This part-time role has a preferred location in the United States West Coast or Mountain Time Zone.
The Role of Director, Public Sector Technology
GovSourcing is seeking to hire a current or former chief information officer, chief technology officer, or chief operations officer with a track record of success in leading technology practices at a state, large city, or large county entity. This role works with all levels of government, including states, cities, counties, K12, and higher education institutions, to match solutions to government needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with existing GovSourcing supplier partners and chief information officers, chief procurement officers, and chief administrative officers across the country to increase the usage of cooperative contracts by the public sector.
- Collaborate with GovSourcing regional Vice President(s) to maximize government relationships and opportunities for GovSourcing supplier partners.
- Build a pipeline of opportunities across all GovSourcing supplier partners, resulting in the adoption of cooperative contracts for your government accounts.
- Collaborate with GovSourcing leadership to expand GovSourcing offerings through new supplier partnerships.
- Help drive SLED market growth for existing and new supplier partners.
Requirements
- Regular nationwide travel (1-3 days per week) to meet with SLED technology leadership.
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with SLED technology leaders.
- Collaborating with business partners to achieve adoption of best practice solutions by governments.
- Consulting with governments to develop a business case in support of cooperative contracting solutions.
- Assisting government clients with creating and accomplishing strategic goals.
- Maintaining knowledge and awareness of trends in public-sector technology and providing insight and education to our supplier partners that supports adoption of supplier partner solutions.
- Attending relevant trade association conferences, including national and regional events as applicable.
- Participate in regular conference calls with the GovSourcing team and supplier partners.
- Maintaining updated records within our CRM system, Salesforce.
Skills, Traits and Qualifications
- Minimum five years’ experience in a technology leadership role for a SLED entity, with a record of integrity and accomplishment.
- Strong relationships with chief information officers, chief technology officers, and chief operating officers across the country.
- Active involvement and leadership in national organizations like NASCIO or NASTD are highly desirable.
- Broad knowledge and understanding of the public sector environment.
- Familiarity with current practices, tendencies, and emerging trends in government.
- Outstanding communications/presentation skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to present to diverse audiences as a panelist and subject matter expert related to public-sector technology best practices.
- Analytical thinker and structured problem solver.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.
- Project management mindset on task execution.
- Independent and self-starter mentality.
- Proficiency with applications like Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, and ability to learn web-based applications like Salesforce.
