What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)
- Serve as a liaison between providers, facilities, pharmacies, insurance plans, support staff, patients, and others, responding to inbound requests through various channels
- Assist with virtual care activities such as gathering/documenting medical history, medication refills, test result communication, and patient education under the direction of a provider
- Maintain provider schedules, prepare patients and charts for telehealth encounters, and handle outpatient registration and appointment scheduling
- Manage referrals to specialists, patient portal administration, and authorization of services, equipment, and medications
- Perform other duties as assigned to support operational needs
What Is Required (Qualifications)
- Graduation certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant training program
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA) certification or equivalent
How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- 3 years of experience in a medical office setting, including experience with medical history gathering, medication refills, test result communication, and patient education
- Successful completion of a certification exam with reimbursement offered by the employer
