Job Description

About Priorities USA

Priorities USA runs effective, large-scale, digital voter mobilization and persuasion campaigns in key battleground states. We invest in cutting-edge research and data. We build training and tools to grow our collective, progressive power. In partnership with movement allies, we employ innovative digital strategies and empower voters.

About The Role

The Creative Director leads all creative strategy and production for Priorities USA’s paid media programs and supports the organization’s broader marketing efforts across owned and organic channels. The Creative Director is a member of the Marketing and Content team but is deeply embedded in digital media workflows. The Creative Director is accountable for delivering all creative assets required to support paid programs and broader marketing initiatives. We are seeking a creative leader who thrives in fast-paced, high-stakes environments; can manage complex production ecosystems; and is eager to push the boundaries of digital persuasion through innovative, experimental approaches. This position will be remote with occasional travel as needed. Working hours are 10AM to 6PM ET regardless of location. We are not currently registered to do business in all locations. In particular, we are not currently accepting applicants based in Florida, Hawaii, Missouri, and Texas due to regulatory considerations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Creative Team, consultants, and vendors, building a flexible and high-performing creative operation.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of creative production—from concept through testing and iteration—in coordination with Operations, Project Management, and Media.
  • Manage workflows and infrastructure across all asset types, including video, static and motion graphics, websites, landing pages, audio, search, display, social, and emerging digital formats.
  • Own the Creative Brief process, translating program goals into clear creative direction, messaging frameworks, and deliverables.
  • Partner closely with the Digital Strategy & Innovation Department to ensure creative strategy advances voter persuasion and mobilization goals.
  • Collaborate with the Polling & Research team to translate insights into compelling messaging and ensure all creative meets legal and compliance requirements.
  • Support organizational marketing efforts across owned and organic channels, ensuring brand consistency and strategic cohesion.
  • Manage budgets, software and hardware needs, vendor relationships, and production systems.
  • Manage multiple projects at once, creating workflow for internal and external teams, being mindful of overlap, capacity and prioritization.
  • Stay at the forefront of digital communication trends and bring innovative, culturally fluent, and experimental approaches to our work.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in a creative leadership role, and at least two election cycles of political campaign experience (can be overlapping).
  • Extensive experience managing multiple direct reports in end-to-end creative production, especially video and digital paid media.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with non-creative stakeholders and synthesize diverse feedback into strong, strategic creative output.
  • Expert in managing interdisciplinary creative workflows, with up-to-date understanding of the required tools, workflows, and infrastructure.
  • A strategic and experimental mindset, with a desire to innovate and test new formats, creative approaches, and persuasion techniques.
  • A sharp understanding of the cutting edge of digital communication, creative trends, and cultural moments—and the ability to translate them into effective political messaging.

Compensation And Benefits

The salary range for this position is $145,000 to $165,000 per year.

Priorities USA’s competitive benefits package includes 100% of health care premium covered for the employee and 75% for dependents, a 401K retirement plan with up to 4% employer match, paid holidays, and flexible PTO. Employees also have access to cybersecurity protection benefits.

Equal Opportunity Employer

People of color, women, people with disabilities, and veterans are strongly encouraged to apply. If you need an accommodation for a disability to apply to this position, please let us know by emailing peopleops@priorities.org.
