About the Role
Principal Asset Management is hosting interns in its equity investment division for Summer 2026. You will join the equity research analyst team in an environment managing over $120 billion USD in assets. This internship provides exposure to multiple equity styles, including US, International, and Emerging Markets.
What You’ll Do
The intern will:
- Learn the comprehensive equity investment process including stock valuation modeling and discounted cashflow analysis.
- Support the Research Analyst team in generating ideas and constructing outperforming strategies.
- Participate in special projects to identify buy/sell candidates, attend analysis meetings, and develop investment theses.
- Engage with global equity research teams during daily meetings and sector discussions.
- Potentially work on quantitative projects for custom analytical insights.
Who You Are
You are an undergraduate pursuing a degree in economics, finance, accounting, engineering, business analytics, math, statistics, or a related field. You have completed coursework or gained experience in security analysis and equity valuation, and you have exposure to equity investments. Advanced Excel skills and strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills will set you apart.
Internship Details
This internship is offered onsite at Global Headquarters in Des Moines, New York, or Seattle, with a preference for Des Moines, IA. You will work full-time during the summer and receive a lump sum stipend of $3,000, alongside additional benefits such as paid company holidays and support for incidental expenses.
