About Equities Asset Management Intern Summer 2026
Principal Asset Management, a subsidiary of Principal Financial Group, is hosting interns for the equity investment division during the Summer of 2026. With over $120 billion USD in AUM, the internship offers hands-on experience in equity research across US, International, and Emerging Markets.
What You’ll Do
- Learn the complete equity investment process including fundamental analysis and stock valuation modeling.
- Assist the Research Analyst team in generating investment ideas and constructing outperforming strategies.
- Participate in special projects to identify buy/sell candidates and formulate investment theses.
- Engage in meetings including global discussions, sector teams, and external management sessions.
Who You Are
You are working towards an undergraduate degree in fields such as economics, finance, accounting, engineering, business analytics, math, statistics, or related fields. You have taken courses in security analysis and equity valuation, and possess advanced Excel skills. Prior exposure to equity investments through student or work experiences is a plus.
Skills That Will Help You Stand Out
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
- Experience with financial platforms like FactSet, Bloomberg, or Charles River.
- Strong work ethic and leadership in student or community roles.
Compensation & Additional Details
This internship offers an hourly rate of $29 with additional bonus opportunities for sales roles. Interns will also receive a lump sum stipend of $3,000 to support incidental expenses.
Location & Work Authorization
Interns must be available to work onsite at one of our Global Headquarters locations in Des Moines (preferred), New York, or Seattle. Applicants requiring immigration sponsorship will not be considered.
