Mechanical Quality Inspector

Job Summary

The Mechanical Quality Inspector is responsible for First Article Inspection and ensuring product conformity to established requirements by evaluating products against customer and Engineering drawings, specifications, and related documents. This role coordinates receiving, in-process, and final product inspections while documenting results within the Quality System Network.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and mathematical inspections with precision.
• Utilize inspection tools including micrometers, calipers, and more.
• Ensure measurement equipment operates per guidelines.
• Interpret GD&T, blueprints, and specifications accurately.
• Adhere to quality management systems and related policies.
• Assist Engineering and Manufacturing in investigating non-conformities.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment following regulations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Proficient in GD&T and blueprint interpretation.
• Experience using inspection equipment like micrometers and calipers.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to create test plans from specifications.
• Excellent interpersonal and liaison skills with technical teams.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software.

Education and Experience

Aerospace experience or AS9100 certification, plus Lean Manufacturing as a plus. A minimum of 5 years of experience and/or training or equivalent education is preferred. A high school diploma or GED is required, along with proficiency in English.

Compensation

Pay rate starts at $25/hr.
