About the Role

At Primark, people are at the heart of everything we do. We are looking for a dynamic People & Culture Business Partner to join our retail team. This role is integral to supporting our stores, colleagues, and business success by providing strategic HR advice and ensuring a positive employee experience.

What You’ll Do

As a People & Culture Business Partner, you will serve as a trusted advisor to Store Managers, the Retail Management team, and the in-store P&C team. You will offer strategic and consultative insights on the people agenda, focusing on key areas such as employee relations, recruitment, learning and development, colleague engagement, and performance management.

You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the P&C strategy and purpose to all colleagues in-store, ensuring an exceptional customer and colleague experience while fostering the development of high-performing teams. This position will oversee three Primark locations: Northeast Mall, Grapevine Mills, and The Parks Mall.

Key Responsibilities in Action:

  • Coach and develop in-store capability and confidence among the Retail Management team and in Store P&C team to act as a first point of contact for ER Matters, exercising clear decision-making and providing advice.
  • Support stores in developing strategies to address challenging recruitment needs, particularly at the Retail Assistant level, by coaching the store manager and management team.
  • Ensure core learning programs are delivered in store while assisting the Retail Management team in identifying store-specific training needs and solutions.
  • Take overall accountability for the successful and smooth running of payroll activities in store, ensuring timely execution and follow-up on any issues.
  • Partner effectively with the People & Culture Centers of Expertise and Central P&C team to support the local implementation of policy and practice.
  • Support the Store Manager(s) in delivering key people KPIs, including engagement, retention, development, and performance.
  • Partner effectively with the People & Culture Centers of Expertise and Central P&C team to support locally the implementation of policy and practice.
  • Support Commercial & Business impacts by developing an understanding of commercial performance and customer experience as related to our people agenda.
  • Ensure delivery against company expectations and policy, maintaining good governance and best practices, and ensuring compliance with regulations and mitigation of business risk.

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an HR Manager or HRBP, with additional work experience and functional leadership experience preferred.
  • Professional HR certification is desirable.
  • Proven experience in coaching and influencing, with the ability to empower others through direct and indirect leadership.
  • Solid consultative abilities with a talent for clear and persuasive communication.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
  • Good working knowledge of employment legislation.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with an interest in developing commercial acumen.
  • Delivery and facilitation skills.
  • Experience in Talent, Performance, and Change Management.
  • Retail experience or experience in other customer-facing sectors with a high colleague headcount is advantageous.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate effectively with managers, supervisors, and hourly colleagues.

Compensation

The pay range for this role is $81,378 - $103,748 annually. This is a good faith estimate, and the final offered salary will depend on factors such as internal equity, geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
