Clinical Pharmacist - Formulary

About the Role

As a Clinical Pharmacist - Formulary at Premera Blue Cross, you will develop, implement, and manage formulary strategies to ensure clinically appropriate and cost-effective medication use. This role supports clinical and financial goals by collaborating across departments and with external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage formulary strategies using pharmacoeconomic and utilization data.
• Collaborate on RFPs, client consulting and ensure clinical criteria in contracting.
• Partner with PBM partners on rebate strategy and coding; assist actuarial teams.
• Provide leadership for the P&T Committee and drive formulary updates.
• Support medical management with research and administration of clinical programs.
• Precept pharmacy students and residents on clinical programs and drug utilization management.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist Degree with an active US Pharmacist license.
• Clinical pharmacy and residency training from an accredited program.
• At least two years of pharmacist experience; advanced degrees preferred.
• Experience in managed care, formulary management and rebate negotiations is a plus.
