Customer Field Representative

Position Summary: This full-time, entry-level position involves excellent customer service and the accurate reading of gas and electric meters across the Central Hudson NYS territory.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Safely and accurately read electric and gas consumption meters.
  • Inspect meters and connections for defects, damage, and unauthorized connections.
  • Engage in polite and professional interactions with the public and clients.
  • Safely operate a motorized vehicle.

Position Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working outside.
  • Experience in customer service, retail, or sales.
  • Ability to walk 5-7 miles each day and work in various weather conditions and terrains.
  • Must have held a valid driver’s license for at least one year with a good driving record.
  • Physical ability to perform climbing, balancing, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, pushing and pulling.
  • Compliance with all safety rules and regulations set forth by PPS.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Hourly wage: $19-$20/hr with potential overtime.
