As a Materials Science Metallurgy Intern, you will apply principles learned in school to hands-on situations within your engineering discipline, typically mechanical, industrial, or materials science engineering. This role involves taking ownership of identified projects and contributing to process and/or product engineering initiatives with progressive responsibility.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Apply theoretical principles of materials science to practical, hands-on situations, focusing on materials characterization and metallurgical analysis.
• Identify opportunities and recommend specific process improvements for various projects.
• Actively participate in regular departmental meetings, contributing insights and learning from team discussions.
• Engage in training sessions, symposiums, and other educational opportunities to enhance your knowledge and skills.
• Perform or review systems analysis, testing, and documentation for existing processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
• Take full ownership and responsibility for assigned projects, driving them to successful completion.
• Collaborate with project teams on new product development, product line extensions, and product enhancements, assisting in developing requirements and specifications.
• Work diligently within provided specifications to achieve project goals and objectives in a timely and accurate manner.
• Participate with peers, project team members, and other departments in various engineering and development initiatives.
• Undertake other duties as assigned to support the team and organizational objectives.
