The Purpose: Compliance Data Analyst
The Compliance Data Analyst is a pivotal role, responsible for owning and developing the compliance data function. This ensures effective management of global compliance risks, providing assurance to regulators and the board. Reporting to the Head of Transaction Monitoring/Fin Crime, this role is key to fostering collaborative internal relations and a strong compliance culture throughout PPRO.
You will join the Financial Crime Transaction Monitoring team to enhance understanding of global compliance risks. This involves close partnership with the 2nd line function to support regulatory reporting and proactively monitor risks by formulating new rules using internal intelligence data.
Key Responsibilities
- Identifying and integrating intelligence sources to enhance monitoring rules and enrich internal datasets.
- Executing an implementation plan to address analytical support for regulatory reporting.
- Establishing an effective engagement model between analytics and Compliance to assure effective 2nd line risk management.
- Identifying opportunities where automated compliance monitoring would be highly impactful.
What We Need From You
- At least 2-3 years of experience in data analytics.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python (e.g., Pandas, NumPy) for manipulating large datasets and automating reporting.
- Comfortable with visualization tools like Looker, Power BI, or Tableau for report interpretation and dashboard creation.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets for ad-hoc analysis, with a strong desire to migrate manual workflows into automated SQL/Python pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with data transformation and modeling; dbt proficiency and data-warehousing concepts are a plus.
- Solid prioritization skills and ability to independently manage competing priorities.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, capable of collaborating effectively.
- Strong ownership and commitment to doing things correctly.
- Understanding of data integrity, quality, and governance, including producing comprehensive data documentation.
- Prior experience in regulatory reporting and monitoring controls.
