Position Overview
The Financial Post is hiring a Journalist, Ottawa Parliamentary Bureau to cover critical economic news, including Bank of Canada decisions, GDP figures, and other key indicators. In this role, you will also report on Parliament Hill and forge key relationships with policymakers and economists.

The Opportunity
Reporting for The Financial Post, you will cover economic trends and breaking news on national business issues. You will interpret data, pitch and generate story ideas, and create content for various platforms including video and podcasts.
Responsibilities
- Cover breaking economic news on tight deadlines.
- Forge ties with economists and political decisionmakers.
- Report on Parliament Hill and business issues.
- Generate and pitch impactful story ideas.
- Create multi-platform content including video and podcasts.
Requirements
- 3+ years of financial journalism experience.
- Strong understanding of economic indicators and monetary policy.
- Ability to write across multiple formats under tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with Parliament Hill and economic trends.
- Additional skills in data analysis, video, or podcast production are assets.
Compensation & Additional Information
