The Opportunity

Postman Flows is revolutionizing API workflow development with a powerful, visual drag-and-drop interface. As a Backend and Systems Engineer, you will scale and maintain our Flows runtime system that supports mission-critical automations in a Kubernetes-based cloud environment. You will make key technical decisions, mentor peers, and drive improvements to ensure low latency, high throughput, and high availability in our backend services.

What You’ll Do

  • Backend Development & Operations: Develop responsive APIs, ensure security and scalability, and maintain operational excellence through test-driven development.
  • Collaboration & Teamwork: Work closely with cross-functional teams, participate in code reviews, and integrate seamlessly with Postman’s architecture.
  • System Integration & Maintenance: Benchmark, refactor, optimize code, and automate engineering workflows for efficiency.
  • Cloud Infrastructure & Management: Design and manage scalable software infrastructure in Kubernetes on AWS, Azure, or GCP using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, Helm, and Crossplane.

About You

You have 8+ years of production-level software development experience with strong command of Node.js and/or Golang. You are proficient in Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure management, committed to test-driven development and operational excellence. Bonus points if you have experience building products from scratch and working with developer tools.
