About the Role

The Veterans Fellow Aviation Maintenance Project Manager Solid Waste Management role at Port of Seattle is a 6-month fellowship designed to support veterans transitioning from military service into civilian employment. This program provides exposure to corporate business practices, mentoring, resume and interview assistance, and more.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive innovative solid waste management solutions at SEA Airport.
  • Coordinate a multidisciplinary team across departments ensuring accountability and alignment with waste reduction objectives.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate waste diversion, reduction, and reuse initiatives.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret waste data to inform strategic decisions.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including tenants, vendors, regulators, and community partners.
  • Champion pilot programs and propose iterative improvements.

Program Eligibility & Requirements

Candidates must be veterans with a minimum of three years of active duty or mobilized reserve service (including the U.S. Coast Guard) and within 24 months of discharge (unless criteria for student status apply). The role requires strong leadership, analytical abilities, project management skills, and a commitment to equity.
