The Health Systems Architect is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing the organization’s healthcare data architecture, analytics infrastructure, and reporting systems to support value-based care initiatives. This role serves as a key technical leader within the Informatics function, ensuring the integrity, scalability, and performance of data systems that support clinical, operational, financial, and population health analytics. The Health Systems Architect collaborates with clinical leadership, medical management, finance, provider relations, and executive teams to deliver data-driven insights that improve patient outcomes and organizational performance. The role supports the development of advanced analytics capabilities, including predictive modeling, performance measurement, and regulatory reporting, while ensuring compliance with healthcare data standards.Core Responsibilities
Data Architecture and Systems Development
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise data architecture supporting healthcare analytics and reporting
- Oversee data warehouse development, database management, and data integration processes
- Establish and maintain scalable data infrastructure supporting population health and value-based care initiatives
- Ensure data systems support interoperability with EHRs, payer systems, and external data sources
Healthcare Analytics and Reporting
- Analyze clinical, operational, and financial data to generate actionable insights
- Develop reporting frameworks and dashboards supporting performance measurement
- Support HEDIS, quality reporting, and disease management analytics
- Produce provider performance and population health reports
Data Governance and Quality
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and reliability across all systems
- Develop and implement data quality assurance processes
- Support audit readiness and regulatory reporting requirements
- Establish data governance standards and documentation practices
Cross Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with clinical, operational, finance, and provider relations teams
- Translate business requirements into technical data solutions
- Support leadership decision-making through data insights and reporting
- Partner with IT and external vendors to enhance system functionality
Project and Systems Management
- Manage multiple data and analytics projects across departments
- Lead implementation of data tools, reporting systems, and analytics platforms
- Support development and enhancement of business intelligence tools
- Evaluate and optimize external systems and data platforms
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems Analysis, Healthcare Informatics, Data Science, or related field required
- Advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare data analytics or informatics
- Experience with population health, clinical, financial, and quality data sets
- Strong proficiency in SQL, SAS, or other statistical programming tools
- Experience with business intelligence tools and data visualization platforms
- Experience supporting HEDIS and healthcare quality reporting
- Strong analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with healthcare data exchange standards and interoperability
- Ability to manage multiple data projects simultaneously
- Strong communication skills translating technical insights into business recommendations
