Job Description

Welcome to Pocket FM

At Pocket FM, stories don't just play, they binge. Started in 2018, we've grown into the world's largest audio series platform with over 200M listeners globally, where users spend an average of 120 minutes a day. We've transformed episodic audio storytelling into mainstream entertainment across genres like romance, thriller, fantasy, and drama. Join us in building the future of entertainment, one episode at a time.

Role Overview: Editorial Analyst

We are seeking an Editorial Analyst who combines editorial acumen with strategic analytical skills. If you are passionate about deconstructing stories, understanding audience behavior, and translating data into sharp editorial insights, this role is for you. You will collaborate with Senior Editors and Editorial Leads to support high-volume storytelling pipelines for the US market, from initial evaluation to long-form pay-per-view performance, blending creativity with analytics.

What You'll Do

  • Story & Editorial Analysis: Analyze serialized stories for structure, pacing, character arcs, and genre/trope alignment. Evaluate US audience market fit and provide editorial support including revisions, line editing, copy editing, and proofreading. Assess story readiness for long-form audio adaptation.
  • Data, Audience & Market Insights: Analyze retention curves, episodic performance, and cohort behavior. Translate data patterns into actionable editorial recommendations. Conduct user comment analysis, surveys, and qualitative research. Support A/B testing and temporal experiments to measure creative impact, and assist in market research to identify content opportunities.
  • Tracking & Editorial Operations: Maintain clean editorial trackers and documentation. Prepare Story Kickoff materials and ensure smooth milestone handoffs (H20 / H30 / H40). Bring structure and process clarity to high-volume pipelines.
  • Program Support (Top Author & Contests): Support pre-contract evaluations, hygiene checks, and risk documentation. Manage contest triage and story shortlisting using structured frameworks. Run look-back analyses to revive strong stories that stall.
  • Audio Production Editorial Support: Prepare scripts for Voice-Over Adaptation (VOA). Strengthen dialogue, cliffhangers, pacing, and emotional beats while preserving the author’s voice. Conduct quality control (QC) on recorded episodes and provide structured feedback before final sign-off.

What We're Looking For

  • 3–4+ years of experience in editorial analysis, publishing, content analytics, OTT, audio, or serialized storytelling.
  • Comfortable working with dashboards, retention metrics, and qualitative insights.
  • Experience with story evaluation, revision, and editing at scale.
  • Ability to clearly document risks, insights, and recommendations.
  • High attention to detail and strong process discipline.
  • Comfortable in fast-moving, high-volume environments.
