Role Overview
Planet Merchant Services SAS (PMSS), a licensed payment provider, is seeking a Junior Risk and Compliance Associate to join our EU Compliance team and support the Head of Compliance (EU) in managing the evolving regulatory landscape applicable to our PSP activities.
What You Will Do
- Regulatory Monitoring & Analysis
- Conduct regulatory watch on EU payment services regulations (PSD2, PSD3, PSR, DORA) and answer questions from Operational Teams.
- Monitor and analyze regulatory developments impacting PSPs.
- Track safeguarding requirements and implementation.
- Prepare regulatory impact assessments and briefing notes for management.
- Regulatory Reporting
- Assist in preparing mandatory regulatory reports applicable to PSPs: DORA (Digital Operational Resilience Act) reporting requirements, COREP (Common Reporting) framework, RUBA (Remittance and Payment Users Data), PAY statistics and other payment-specific reporting obligations.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely submission of all regulatory filings.
- Maintain reporting documentation and audit trails.
- Internal Control Support
- Support the implementation and monitoring of internal control frameworks.
- Assist in compliance testing and control effectiveness assessments.
- Participate in risk assessment exercises.
- Help maintain compliance policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Operational Compliance Support
- Act as compliance point of contact for operational teams.
- Provide day-to-day compliance guidance and support.
- Assist in responding to compliance queries from business units.
- Support compliance training initiatives across the organization.
- Project Participation
- Contribute to compliance projects and initiatives.
- Support regulatory implementation projects (PSD3/PSR transition, DORA compliance).
- Participate in cross-functional working groups.
- Assist in preparing materials for regulatory authorities.
Who You Are
- Master's degree (BAC+5) in one of the following fields: Law (with focus on financial regulation, banking law, or business law), Compliance / Regulatory Affairs, Finance with regulatory specialization, Business Administration with compliance/legal focus, European Studies with financial services concentration.
- 0-5 years of experience in: Compliance roles within financial services, fintech, or payment services, Regulatory affairs or legal departments in regulated industries, Audit or risk management with regulatory exposure. Fresh graduates with relevant internships in compliance will be considered.
- Essential skills: Understanding of EU payment services regulations (PSD2/PSD3, PSR framework), Knowledge of financial services regulatory reporting requirements, Familiarity with compliance frameworks and internal control concepts, Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, Proficiency in regulatory research and interpretation.
- Nice To Have: Exposure to DORA (Digital Operational Resilience Act), Knowledge of safeguarding rules for payment institutions, Understanding of regulatory reporting frameworks (COREP, statistical reporting), Awareness of AML/CTF compliance requirements, Experience with compliance management tools or GRC platforms.
Languages
- English: Fluent (written and spoken): Mandatory for EU-wide collaboration.
- French: Fluent: Advantage for local stakeholder engagement.
- Additional EU languages are a plus.
