Job Description

About Plaid

We believe that the way people interact with their finances will drastically improve in the next few years. We’re dedicated to empowering this transformation by building the tools and experiences that thousands of developers use to create their own products. Plaid powers the tools millions of people rely on to live a healthier financial life. We work with thousands of companies like Venmo, SoFi, several of the Fortune 500, and many of the largest banks to make it easy for people to connect their financial accounts to the apps and services they want to use. Plaid’s network covers 12,000 financial institutions across the US, Canada, UK and Europe. Founded in 2013, the company is headquartered in San Francisco with offices in New York, Washington D.C., London and Amsterdam.

The Product Manager Role at Plaid

Plaid’s Product team builds the network that powers open finance. We unlock financial freedom by enabling innovation, reliability, and customer success. Our Product Managers are curious, fast-moving, and customer-obsessed, making intuitive, reliable experiences that help people thrive financially.

As a Product Manager at Plaid, you’ll define and drive products that help millions connect, move, and manage their money. You’ll partner with engineering, design, and go-to-market teams to translate customer needs into impactful, high-quality products.

This role suits someone early in their Product Manager career who loves to learn, collaborate, and build meaningful solutions that improve financial lives.

Responsibilities

  • Own a product area: define problems, write clear requirements, and drive execution with cross-functional teams.
  • Shape the roadmap using data, feedback, and market signals.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Design to deliver intuitive, high-quality experiences.
  • Use metrics and user insights to measure and improve outcomes.
  • Communicate clearly, align stakeholders, and guide decisions.
  • Act with a founder mindset–simplify, move fast, and embrace feedback.
  • Learn continuously and help raise the bar for Plaid’s products and culture.

Qualifications

  • 1–4 years of experience in a product-related role (e.g. Product Manager, APM, startup operator, founder, or product analyst).
  • Proven track record of building or launching products end-to-end.
  • Experience collaborating closely with engineering and design teams to deliver value quickly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to explain complex ideas simply and effectively.
  • Comfortable operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
  • Familiarity using AI in your day-to-day product work, such as prototyping, research, or analysis.
  • Experience in an early-stage or high-growth startup environment.
  • [Nice to Have] Experience in fintech.

Compensation & Benefits

The target base salary for this position ranges from $163,200/year to $223,200/year. Additional compensation in the form(s) of equity and/or commission are dependent on the position offered. Plaid provides a comprehensive benefit plan, including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k). Pay is based on factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and skillset, and location. Pay and benefits are subject to change at any time, consistent with the terms of any applicable compensation or benefit plans.

Our Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion

Our mission at Plaid is to unlock financial freedom for everyone. To support that mission, we seek to build a diverse team of driven individuals who care deeply about making the financial ecosystem more equitable. We recognize that strong qualifications can come from both prior work experiences and lived experiences. We encourage you to apply to a role even if your experience doesn't fully match the job description. We are always looking for team members that will bring something unique to Plaid!
