What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)

  • Evaluate borrower-proposed budgets and project timelines for reasonableness and achievability
  • Review and evaluate due diligence documents, including Phase 1 and Geotech reports
  • Analyze market risks and new trends in construction processes, costs, and durations
  • Communicate with project engineers, architects, and local jurisdictions to evaluate and mitigate construction risks
  • Recommend potential risk mitigation measures for identified development and construction risks

What Is Required (Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Real Estate, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience as a Land Development or Risk Analyst, preferably in construction lending or real estate finance
  • Knowledge of land development processes, including zoning, entitlements, and environmental considerations
  • Strong analytical skills to assess financial statements and conduct risk assessments
  • Proven experience evaluating construction budgets and project schedules

How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience with construction financing or homebuilding
  • Strong ability to analyze proposed entitlements and construction activities for feasibility and compliance
  • Process-oriented mindset with a focus on identifying and implementing efficiencies
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team
