Key Responsibilities of a Coding Quality Analyst
- Conduct internal quality assessment reviews, providing education on coding practices to ensure strict adherence to the Coding Quality Plan.
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare providers and coding employees to resolve billing, coding, and reimbursement issues.
- Analyze monthly billing reports, specifically focusing on revenue cycle metrics and the adequacy of documentation.
- Act as a vital liaison between the Coding department and the employer to elevate awareness regarding essential coding and documentation standards.
- Proactively identify areas for improvement and opportunities, recommending and implementing practical solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
What We Look For (Qualifications)
- A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, healthcare administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of two years of progressive experience in hospital functions, including professional/facility coding, reimbursement, and billing.
- Certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Coding Specialist (CCS), or Professional Coder.
- A strong, comprehensive understanding of coding compliance and core financial functions.
- Demonstrated ability to present complex information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
