About The Team And Role
As a Staff Principal Software Engineer Full Text Search at Pinecone, you will focus on full-text search and its integration with vector search at scale. You will build next generation search capabilities and guide core search infrastructure including indexing, retrieval, and relevance. This role requires strong collaboration and deep expertise in search internals and high performance computing.
Responsibilities
- Define and lead the evolution of core full-text search capabilities.
- Research advances in search infrastructure, data structures, and retrieval algorithms.
- Collaborate with partners and product team to shape long-term technical vision.
- Leverage experience in large-scale search systems for innovative roadmap development.
Requirements
- Significant hands-on experience with full-text search technologies such as Elasticsearch, Lucene, or Solr.
- 7+ years of experience with Java, Rust, Go, or C++.
- 7+ years of developing, monitoring and operating large scale distributed systems.
- BS in Computer Science, related technical field or equivalent experience.
