Job Purpose
We are seeking a talented European Sustainability Intern to join the European Sustainability team. This role is crucial in supporting the development and execution of PIMCO Prime Real Estate's European ESG strategy.
Key Responsibilities
The European Sustainability Intern will be involved in:
- ESG Strategy Execution:
- Supporting local asset management colleagues in developing or refining asset-specific ESG strategies, including certifications, decarbonization, energy performance, and biodiversity initiatives.
- Assisting with business and product development initiatives, and preparing investor communications related to ESG.
- ESG Initiatives & Tools:
- Participating in and monitoring the implementation of ESG initiatives across the entire European portfolio.
- Assisting in the planning and delivery of ESG training sessions for various internal stakeholders.
- Managing ESG data and effectively utilizing analytics tools to support and execute the overall ESG strategy.
- ESG Regulation & Reporting:
- Keeping abreast of crucial ESG trends and technological advancements within the real estate sector.
- Monitoring regulatory requirements for ESG and sustainability across diverse topics such as building performance and reporting, with a specific focus on local regulations.
- Contributing to thought leadership by actively participating in industry initiatives and public consultations.
Key Requirements
To be successful in this European Sustainability Intern role, candidates should possess:
- Currently completing a Master's degree in sustainable development, management (sustainable/environmental), real estate, finance, economics, data science, data analytics, civil engineering, or architecture; an additional qualification in real estate is highly desirable.
- Professional experience in real estate asset, portfolio, fund or investment management, real estate finance, data science, banking, project management, or consulting.
- Knowledge of real estate investments/asset management and relevant (local) sustainability regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Practicality and perseverance to complete projects and tasks, both collaboratively and individually.
- Fluency in English is a prerequisite; fluency in French, German, or Spanish is highly desired.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic multicultural business environment.
