The Role: Veterinary Technician - Cardiology

As a Veterinary Technician - Cardiology at MVA, you will play an essential role in a team committed to delivering top-tier care for pets suffering from heart disease and cardiac conditions. Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with advanced cardiac diagnostics, including echocardiograms, ECGs, and radiographs.
  • Positioning, sedating, and monitoring patients during specialized procedures.
  • Preparing patients for cardiology appointments, which involves reviewing and interpreting bloodwork, medical history, and various diagnostics.
  • Administering and meticulously monitoring medications to ensure safe and accurate patient care.
  • Communicating effectively and empathetically with clients during consultations, discharges, and follow-up updates.
  • Maintaining accurate patient records to support seamless case management.
  • Collaborating closely with board-certified cardiologists and fellow technicians to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Supporting other hospital teams as required, including assisting with anesthesia or emergency tasks when Cardiology duties are complete.

Anticipated Schedule

This is a full-time position with an available schedule of Tuesday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

Compensation & Benefits

What We're Looking For

We seek Veterinary Technicians who excel in animal care, problem-solving under pressure, and collaborative teamwork. Our ideal candidate possesses:

  • 3+ years of experience in a clinical setting; cardiology experience is highly valued.
  • CVT/LVT/RVT licensure preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in patient monitoring, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and cardiac diagnostics.
  • Solid understanding of veterinary medical terminology, medications, and disease processes.
  • Excellent communication skills for client education and team collaboration.
  • Ability to prioritize, stay organized, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • A steadfast commitment to providing exceptional patient and client care.
