About the Veterinary Technician Assistant Role

Located in Plymouth Meeting, PA, this full-service, multi-department facility offers a range of services including 24/7 emergency care, specialty services, general practice, boarding, grooming, daycare, and rehabilitation.
What You’ll Do
- Assist doctors and nurses with patient care and procedures.
- Perform daily husbandry for hospitalized patients including feeding, walking, and cleaning.
- Properly restrain patients using fear-free handling techniques.
- Prepare and run in-house laboratory tests (CBC, Chemistry, UA, etc.).
- Stock treatment and exam areas, maintain hospital cleanliness, and manage laundry.
- Assist in surgery by setting up and cleaning surgical areas, wrapping instruments, and supporting anesthesia recovery.
- Support outpatient appointments by preparing rooms, restraining for diagnostics, and cleaning between patients.
- Maintain accurate patient charts and assist with daily checklists.
- Provide overall support to ensure smooth daily hospital operations.
Schedule and Compensation
This is a full-time position with flexible scheduling. Typical hours range between 7:00 AM – 9:00 PM including some weekends. Compensation is $16.00–$22.00/hour, commensurate with experience.

Requirements
Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting required, along with strong animal handling skills, excellent communication, attention to detail, and a positive, dependable attitude.
