Role Overview

The Application Support Engineer role at Pico focuses on ensuring customer success with the Redline products. The role involves collaborating with customers, development, and production teams.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients in solving problems and maximizing value of Redline products.
  • Respond promptly to production issues and provide workarounds.
  • Replicate customer issues and verify fixes for patches and releases.
  • Manage production environments, software upgrades, routine changes, proactive monitoring, and performance tuning.
  • Participate in weekend testing and assess exchange-driven initiatives.
  • Collaborate with development engineers and Pico server/network teams.
  • Implement automation and continuous improvement of tools, monitoring, inventory, and runbooks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or MIS.
  • Experience with financial services front office systems, market data tickerplants, order execution technology, and global exchange technology.
  • Strong understanding of Linux and performance tuning.
  • Solid experience with Intel based architecture and IT systems networking.
  • Programming and scripting skills; Python, C/C++ or Java are pluses.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Team-oriented, flexible, and adaptable with strong work ethics.

Working Arrangements

This is a hybrid-based position in locations where Pico has a local office. Remote positions may be considered where there is no local office. The role operates under a follow-the-sun model, typically from 9-5pm Monday to Friday, with occasional early/late shifts, bank holidays, and weekend tests compensated by time in lieu.
