System Engineer at Philips
As a System Engineer at Philips, you will be a vital part of the VUE Platform Team Informatics in Ra'anana, reporting to Eyal Windler, Platform and Infrastructure Manager. This role involves the comprehensive platform design of IT infrastructure and systems within a highly complex and advanced environment. You will contribute significantly to the Philips Radiology Informatics R&D team, supporting the ongoing development of our Philips Image Management solution.
Our solution provides a complete and scalable local and wide-area Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) for hospitals and related institutions, facilitating the archiving, distribution, retrieval, and display of images and data from hospital modalities and information systems.
Your Role and Responsibilities
- Assess new technologies and system-level needs, translating them into precise product and engineering requirements.
- Collaborate closely with R&D and non-R&D teams to define robust product specifications.
- Develop innovative platform designs and strategic deployment methodologies.
- Set critical reliability targets and approve essential hardware configurations.
- Provide comprehensive product support and management, including installation, troubleshooting, and continuous feedback analysis.
- Evaluate system reliability and conduct continuous follow-up for enhancement opportunities.
Qualifications and Experience
You are an ideal candidate if you possess:
- Over 5 years of practical, hands-on experience as a System Engineer, IT Platform Expert, Architect, or in a comparable role.
- Fluent command of architecture and design across diverse systems.
- Extensive experience in physical and virtualized systems, including VMware installation, management, and implementation.
- Proficiency with Windows-based platforms.
- Demonstrated experience in networking, storage solutions, and virtualization technologies.
- Experience navigating the product development cycle of multidisciplinary systems.
- Previous experience working within a large multinational company.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with geographically dispersed teams.
- Fluent English and exceptional communication and documentation skills.
- A bachelor’s degree in any engineering discipline (preferred).
- Experience with requirement documents such as BOM, system test documents, and traceability matrices (preferred).
- Proficiency in PowerShell (preferred).
- Experience in the medical device industry, ideally with knowledge of medical imaging systems (preferred).
