Job Description

Job Purpose

As a Field Service Engineer - South West at Philips, you will be responsible for supporting the technical needs of Philips Imaging customers and customer service partners. This role involves working both individually and as part of a wider team to install, maintain, and repair a wide range of technologically advanced imaging equipment, with a specific focus on MRI systems. Ideally, the successful candidate will be based in the Bristol area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate at an advanced technical level, providing expert advice and solutions to customers and colleagues.
  • Provide field-based and remote technical support to customers and colleagues in line with relevant training and experience.
  • Carry out corrective, preventative, installation, and field change order activities on complex healthcare systems.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hardware, and software system failures using established procedures and information.
  • Determine the most cost-effective repair/solution to minimize customer downtime.
  • Actively participate in an ongoing rotation with the Field Service Engineer team, providing customers with direct remote support in a 5 by 7 working pattern.

Team and Reporting Structure

You will be an integral part of a regional team of collaborative Field Service Engineers, committed to working to the highest standards to ensure first-class service delivery to our customer base, while strictly adhering to Quality & Regulatory standards in this heavily regulated industry. You will report directly to the District Service Delivery Manager for the South West.

Candidate Requirements

To excel in this role, a customer-first attitude and the following qualifications and experience are essential:

  • HNC (NVQ Level 3 or higher) or Degree in Electro-engineering or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Experienced logical problem solver with the ability to work independently.
  • Experienced in carrying out corrective and preventative works for Imaging Systems devices and equipment desirable.
  • The ability to process knowledge across multi-modality and diverse product ranges.
  • Recognize new technologies and adapt to daily challenges.
  • Deliver high levels of customer service.
  • Competent in IT/Network diagnosis/system connectivity/Remote service is desirable.
  • Currently living in the South West region, ideally around the Bristol area.

Please note: Due to the role working in the healthcare environment, a standard DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) criminal record check will be required for this role.
