DevOps Engineer - Software Engineering Excellence Platform

At Philips, the DevOps Engineer will design, develop, and operate internal Code Hub Platform Engineering services on top of our AWS/GitHub/Artifactory foundational layer.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and operate internal Code Hub Platform services.
  • Implement infrastructure-as-code and automation pipelines using Terraform and GitHub Actions.
  • Lead improvements in scalability, reliability, and developer experience for mission-critical services.
  • Monitor and enhance service performance, cost-efficiency and observability in line with SRE best practices.
  • Promote engineering best practices, InnerSource contributions, and collaboration across teams.
  • Support the Backstage Developer Portal for platform capabilities and self-service workflows.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or equivalent.
  • 10 years of hands-on software development experience.
  • 5+ years in software engineering with at least one modern programming language (TypeScript, Python, Java, or C#).
  • Experience with cloud-native development on AWS (ECS, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch).
  • Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, GitHub Actions, and infrastructure-as-code tools.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with container-based systems (Docker, Kubernetes) and modern observability tooling.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills across various teams.

Work Arrangement & Company Culture
