AI Internship – Invoice Data Extraction

The expected start date: As soon as possible

The length: 6 months

The number of hours: 32-40 per week

We are seeking a motivated intern to join our Service Operations Team. You will design and develop an AI-powered tool to access invoices within our SAP financial reporting environment, extract key data fields, and automate reporting processes. Collaborate with finance and IT teams and work with real business data while gaining experience in AI development and SAP systems.

Your Role

  • Analyze current SAP invoice management workflows to identify data extraction requirements.
  • Design, develop, and test an AI/ML solution for structured data extraction from invoice documents.
  • Connect the solution with SAP using APIs and export features to automate data retrieval.
  • Collaborate with finance, IT, and reporting teams to meet financial reporting needs.
  • Document the solution, including code, process flows, and user instructions.
  • Present findings and demonstrate the tool’s capabilities to stakeholders.

You're The Right Fit If

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Basic understanding of SAP or ERP systems (a plus).
  • Experience or coursework in Python, R, or Java; familiarity with AI/ML libraries is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a cross-functional team.
  • Good communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus).

How We Work Together

Our office-based teams work in-person at least 3 days per week.

Compensation includes:

  • Monthly full-time allowance between 500 and 700 gross (pro-rata for part-time).
  • Housing compensation: 300 net near Amsterdam or 255 net for other locations.
  • Travel compensation up to 192 net if eligible.
  • Paid holidays per internship term.
  • Opportunity to buy Philips equipment at the Philips shop.
