About the role

About Pharmaron

Pharmaron is a global CRO helping pharma and biotech companies bring new therapies to life. With over 25,000 employees worldwide across our sites in the UK, US, and China, we support drug discovery through to manufacturing with fully integrated, high‑quality R&D services.

We're proud of the impact we make-supporting hundreds of discovery projects, CMC programmes, and clinical trials each year. Our teams work across a wide range of therapeutic modalities, from small molecules to advanced biologics and gene therapies, partnering with more than 3,000 customers globally.

As a Scientific Marketing Manager, you will combine deep scientific understanding with strategic, creative marketing to showcase our CMC capabilities and expertise to biotech and pharma audiences. Working remotely from the US you will act as a bridge between our scientists and clients-translating complex topics across small molecule CMC, with particular emphasis on process chemistry and early-stage CMC, into clear, compelling narratives.

You will help deliver high-impact content across multiple formats, including website pages, white papers, info sheets, and other scientific collateral, while partnering closely with colleagues across marketing and scientific teams in the UK and China.

This role is especially important in supporting Pharmaron's growing CMC business, with current focus areas including late-stage manufacturing and integrated drug substance and drug product offerings. Designed as a remote position, the role also supports close collaboration with key stakeholders and periodic in-person meetings as needed.

Key Roles And Responsibilities

  • Translate complex small molecule CMC and process chemistry topics into clear, credible, audience-focused marketing content for biotech and pharma customers.
  • Develop and refine scientific materials such as website content, white papers, info sheets, articles, and other collateral aligned to CMC priorities.
  • Support marketing activity for priority areas including late-stage manufacturing and integrated drug substance and drug product service offerings.
  • Work closely with scientific stakeholders to gather technical input, interpret specialist content accurately, and turn it into externally facing messaging.
  • Partner with internal teams across regions, including colleagues in the UK and China, to coordinate content development and ensure consistency.
  • Contribute to strengthening Pharmaron's digital presence by helping build effective web content and understanding how page structure supports visibility in search and AI-driven discovery.
  • Support the CMC team with related marketing activities, including webinars and review or feedback on scientific posters.
  • Deliver against an existing marketing strategy for the CMC area, with support and guidance from leadership as you grow in the role.

Requirements

  • A degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, pharmaceutical science or a related scientific field is essential.
  • Scientific background in small molecule CMC, with particular relevance to process chemistry and early-stage CMC.
  • Minimum 8 years of combined experience in small molecule CMC.
  • Experience working in a scientific role first, with the potential or desire to move further into marketing, would be welcomed.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to communicate effectively beyond purely technical audiences.
  • Confidence working with subject matter experts and asking the right questions to shape accurate, useful external messaging.
  • Interest in scientific storytelling, content development, and supporting business growth through well-positioned marketing activity.
  • Ability to convert technical scientific information into polished, accurate, and engaging written content without losing scientific integrity.
  • Understanding of how scientific webpages are built and how content can support discoverability through search engines and emerging AI-driven platforms.
  • Stakeholder-management skills that support effective partnership with scientific leaders, marketers, and other internal contributors.
  • Comfort working independently in a remote role while staying closely aligned with team objectives and timelines.
