Original Job Summary

Overview

The Data Center Technician role at PGTEK supports and maintains Dell server infrastructure in a fast-paced datacenter environment. The role involves hands-on hardware troubleshooting, repairs, and installations (rack and stack) with an emphasis on uptime and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hardware Maintenance & Repair: Perform break/fix services on Dell servers (replace GPUs, NICs, memory, etc.).
  • Ticket Management: Track and resolve hardware-related service tickets in a timely manner.
  • Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Identify and resolve hardware issues using technical expertise.
  • Customer Service & Communication: Maintain clear communication with team members and stakeholders.
  • Physical Datacenter Work: Lift up to 65 lbs, climb ladders, and perform demanding physical tasks.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with technicians and other departments to meet goals.
  • Quality & Precision: Execute tasks and repairs with high accuracy and reliability.

Additional Information

This position is based in Ellendale, ND with 100% onsite work and occasional rotating shifts. Relocation assistance is provided and the role requires US citizenship. The start date is early December 2025.

Technical Requirements

  • Expertise in Dell server racking, stacking, and servicing.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware troubleshooting and component replacement.
  • Preferred experience with Nvidia GPUs/NICs and basic networking concepts.
  • Ability to read Linux logs and familiarity with Linux CLI is a plus.
