Summer Student Health and Safety Data Analytics

Overview

PETRONAS Canada, a leading natural gas resource owner in Canada, seeks a Summer Student for Health and Safety Data Analytics. This role will support the Health and Safety team in Calgary by assisting with reporting, data management, and analytics to drive safety and sustainability performance.

The Role

This full-time summer student position (May - August 2026) offers hands-on experience in the energy industry with exposure to data reporting and visualization. You will work with industry experts, gain technical skills, and build a network with peers.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in developing a long-term strategy for Health & Safety reporting and data management.
• Collect raw data from various sources for analysis and reporting.
• Create reports and dashboards from diverse datasets.
• Identify and interpret trends in data.
• Catalog health and safety incidents and support digital systems.
• Participate in various projects as needed.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at a Canadian post-secondary institution.
• Background in Commerce, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related fields.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and strong Excel skills.
• Familiarity with visualization tools such as PowerBI is an asset.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and time management skills.
