Senior Backend Engineer

About the Role

As a Senior Backend Engineer at Perspective, you'll be at the forefront of shaping our product's core. This role offers end-to-end ownership of backend features, from developing and scaling crucial integrations (like Facebook, Google, and Zapier) to meticulously optimizing performance and reliability using technologies such as Node.js, MongoDB, and Redis. You will empower users to seamlessly connect their funnels to CRMs, analytics tools, and various other systems, streamlining their workflows. We emphasize autonomous work, close collaboration, and shipping features directly influenced by real customer feedback, eliminating guesswork.

What You'll Be Doing

• Develop and enhance features with a strong emphasis on security, performance, and rigorous testing.
• Take ownership of core software components, driving concepts from initial idea through to successful execution.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to tackle complex business challenges and deliver highly impactful solutions.
• Ensure robust service health through proactive monitoring, comprehensive logging, effective alerting, and resilient infrastructure.
• Continuously improve systems via thorough documentation, scalable practices, and database optimization strategies.
• Actively participate in team rituals, championing improvements and prioritizing initiatives that yield significant impact.

Who You Are

• You bring 5+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer, with robust skills in Node.js and TypeScript.
• You are highly motivated to own, analyze, and enhance critical backend systems within a dynamic SaaS environment.
• You possess hands-on experience with MongoDB in production, a solid understanding of queue systems, and familiarity with REST and other API standards.
• You demonstrate strong problem-solving capabilities and a keen ability to identify business-relevant bottlenecks.
• You are adept at managing cross-team projects efficiently and consistently delivering under time constraints.
• You are experienced in designing and scaling APIs by applying best practices like SOLID, DRY, and KISS.
• You are fluent in English; proficiency in German is considered a valuable asset.
