About the Role

Persona, a top talent agency trusted by leading startups, is seeking a Data Scientist. Founded by Stanford graduates and backed by top investors like Founders Fund, Sequoia Capital, and Andreessen Horowitz, we help companies identify high-potential talent worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain predictive models for startup and market scoring.
  • Apply machine learning techniques for insights extraction from structured and unstructured data.
  • Utilize historical deal flow and startup performance data to improve sourcing.
  • Design tools and systems to support scalable decision-making.
  • Automate data pipelines and workflows to minimize manual tasks.
  • Integrate third-party data (Crunchbase, PitchBook, LinkedIn) into internal platforms.
  • Collaborate with the investment team to validate insights using data.
  • Provide technical support during due diligence processes.
  • Translate complex models into actionable recommendations.
  • Support rollout of native AI solutions to boost efficiency and deal quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field.
  • 4+ years experience in data science, machine learning, or analytics.
  • Prior experience in startups or VC is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis and modeling.
  • Strong SQL skills, API integration, and data scraping experience.
  • Ability to work U.S. business hours (PT, CT, or ET).
