Senior Application Developer II
Performance Food Group is seeking a dedicated Senior Application Developer II to join their team. You will deliver and provide oversight to development projects for custom business applications and reports. This role involves direct interaction with business stakeholders, IT management, and other developers to guide projects to completion. You will also provide ideas for technology and process improvements, and deliver well-documented solutions that meet stakeholder and business process needs, while ensuring department and coding processes are followed.
Position Responsibilities:
- Mentor other developers on best practices, troubleshooting, estimation, testing, and documentation.
- Develop large scale enterprise solutions with high complexity.
- Oversee the development of design documents such as technical specifications, functional requirements, object modules, system test plans, and technical and user documentation.
- Collaborate with developers, project managers, architects, business analysts, and other departments to develop new technology and expand existing applications.
- Research and propose new technologies and methodologies to improve development processes.
- Lead Team Code Reviews.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience.
- 7 – 10 years of related experience.
- Extensive IBM iSeries platform knowledge.
- Fluent in RPG and SQLRPG, with ability to work in RPG Free.
- iSeries SQL knowledge.
- Ability to translate user requests into functional needs, and design/develop solutions.
- Experience using Turnover or similar change management tools for source control.
- Experience in data conversions (Flat files, CSV, Excel) to IBM i.
- Self-starter with ability to work independently and meet deliverables with minimum supervision.
