Program Overview: Risk Decision Group (RDG)
The Risk Decision Group (RDG) provides nationwide background investigations compliant with national government standards, including supporting continuous vetting for over 110 government agencies.
About The Role
Peraton is seeking to fill a critical, 100% Remote role for a Technical Project Engineer within our Risk Decision Group (RDG), managing high-visibility projects.
Key Responsibilities of the Technical Project Engineer
- Responsible for the performance of relatively small projects or a definable portion of a larger program in accordance with contract requirements and company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Directs and supervises all support resources for the performance of project assignments and activities.
- Manages the direction of a project through design, development, implementation, and testing, aligning with project objectives.
- Serves as the single point of contact for all aspects of assigned project development and implementation.
- Interfaces with all areas affected by the project, including end users, business support teams, technical teams, and senior leadership.
- Coordinates efforts within the project team to ensure project expectations are met and effectively communicated.
- Manages multiple projects simultaneously.
- Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
- Gathers functional and technical requirements utilizing standard project management and/or business analysis methodologies.
- Responsible for the preparation of and accountability for all project deliverables.
- Conducts project meetings and handles project tracking and analysis, including identifying risks and key decisions.
- Provides timely and concise updates on project progress to senior management and key stakeholders.
- Recommends and takes action to direct the analysis and solutions of problems.
- Specifies systems requirements and ensures that completed systems meet these requirements.
- Participates in the PMO's established change management practice, leading change requests and bug fixes from initiation to review by the Change Control Board.
- Possesses strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Works under general direction, providing solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
- Functions as a good team player with the ability to provide after-hours support.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of experience with a Bachelor of Science/Arts degree, 0 years with a Master of Science/Arts degree, or 6 years without a degree.
- US Citizenship is mandatory.
- Must hold an active federal background investigation with a T5 adjudication or Top Secret eligible clearance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Teams Environment.
- Experience with Visio.
- Experience with process flow mapping.
- Experience working within and analyzing federal investigative standards and operational workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP Certification.
- Scrum Master Certification.
- Understanding of agile methodology.
- Understanding of software development lifecycles.
