About the role
Senior Linux Platform Engineer (Embedded & Ubuntu)
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Linux Systems Engineer with a strong background in Ubuntu/Debian administration, embedded/ARM platforms, configuration management, and IT security. In this role, you will maintain and enhance an Ubuntu-based Raspberry Pi image, automate infrastructure, integrate enterprise authentication services, and support global development and operations teams. This position requires hands-on expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate in an international environment.
Key Responsibilities
Linux & Embedded Systems
- Maintain, improve, and further develop an Ubuntu-based Raspberry Pi system image.
- Work with ARM/embedded platforms, including troubleshooting and optimization.
Automation & Configuration Management
- Automate and orchestrate systems using SaltStack, with active involvement in the migration to Ansible.
- Develop and improve scripts (Bash/Python) to optimize system operations.
Directory Services, Identity & PKI
- Integrate and operate Active Directory services using SSSD, LDAP, and Kerberos.
- Manage internal PKI and certificate infrastructures, including TLS configuration and key rotation.
Security, Monitoring & Operations
- Perform system hardening and implement security best practices.
- Ensure comprehensive monitoring, logging, and performance tuning.
- Manage daily operational tasks and incidents across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd level support, including troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Create, optimize, and maintain operational workflows for stable and efficient system operations.
Collaboration & Documentation
- Work closely with developers, providing consulting and support for deploying and operating applications.
- Maintain high-quality documentation aligned with enterprise standards.
- Collaborate with international teams across functions and regions.
Required Qualifications
Technical Background
- Completed degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a comparable qualification.
- 8+ years of professional experience in Linux system administration (Ubuntu/Debian).
- Experience with ARM systems or embedded devices (e.g., Raspberry Pi).
- Strong knowledge of configuration management (SaltStack, Ansible).
- Experience integrating Linux systems with Active Directory.
- Experience with virtualization and ARM emulation setups.
- Strong networking knowledge (DNS, DHCP, Proxy).
- Solid scripting skills in Bash and/or Python.
- Hands-on experience with Git and CI/CD environments (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub).
- Strong understanding of IT security, system hardening, and secure operations.
