Director, Business Development
People Corporation is seeking a Director, Business Development to join our team in Calgary. This role is ideal for an energetic sales professional who is motivated to guide a team to success and grow a portfolio in the group benefits market.
Role Overview:
- Guide a team of 6-8 Business Development Consultants
- Build long-term relationships with key senior decision-makers
- Develop and execute sales strategies in the group benefits sector
- Engage in consultative sales including RFP processes and high-quality presentations
- Collaborate with internal teams such as Marketing, Underwriting, and Finance
Key Responsibilities:
- Originate and uncover strategic partnerships and growth opportunities
- Oversee and support a team, ensuring achievement of annual goals
- Manage entire sales cycles and develop comprehensive sales plans
- Present proposals and pricing strategies to clients
- Maintain accurate sales data via CRM and monitor pipeline activities
Requirements:
- Minimum five years of group insurance sales, with consulting experience
- LLQP license (required)
- Knowledge of procurement, governance and bidding processes
- Exceptional sales, business, and financial acumen
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fluency in English and French
