Job Description
Position Summary
The Logistics Planner - Day Shift supports development of a logistics design plan for customer inbound supply chain network. The role involves creating instructions for internal groups and customer providers to implement the plan, analyzing cost savings and efficiency opportunities, and proposing necessary changes.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop day-to-day route design deliverables per internal policies and regulations.
- Coordinate logistics systems implementation with customers, suppliers, and the Penske team.
- Develop and maintain cross-dock logistics tools and services.
- Provide data for management reporting on departmental performance and decision making.
- Utilize customers' electronic data order interchange.
- Offer input in management reporting for data-driven decisions.
- Participate in other projects as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
A minimum of a High School diploma or GED is required. A two-year degree or certificate in Supply Chain Management is preferred. Prior experience in transportation/third-party logistics is required. Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and intranet use are necessary. Excellent attention to detail, problem solving, organization skills and a cooperative team spirit are essential.
Physical Requirements
The role requires reading, effective verbal and written communication, data analysis, and following instructions. The candidate should be able to stand, walk, sit, and occasionally lift or move up to 25lbs/12kg. Specific vision criteria must be met.
Additional Information
Shift: Monday to Friday - Day Shift. Regular, predictable full attendance is mandatory. Flexibility to support the business and travel as needed is necessary. Penske is committed to equity in employment.
