Position Summary
Penske Logistics Customer Service Associate monitors delivery schedules to assure timely delivery of materials and products to customer locations. The role involves managing time sensitive information and transactions to ensure on-time delivery by tracking shipments, estimating times of arrival and delivery, and recovering loads when necessary. Communication skills and a strong customer service focus are essential.
Shift
Monday thru Friday 11:00am - 7:30pm
Major Responsibilities
- Use TMS system to enter and process customer orders
- Work closely with common carriers to ensure on-time deliveries
- Monitor shipment status daily and maintain transportation relationships
- Communicate with associates from other shifts
- Complete daily logs and checklists
- Work with customers to resolve transportation issues
- Identify cost savings opportunities
- Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of customer service experience required
- Bachelor’s Degree or some college preferred; High school diploma or equivalent necessary
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
- Advanced computer skills including Excel and Outlook
- Ability to learn and operate multiple transportation systems and applications
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Flexibility to work various shifts and travel as needed
Physical Requirements
The role requires reading, verbal and written communication, and the ability to stand, walk, sit, and perform tasks using hands. Occasionally, lifting or moving up to 25lbs/12kg is necessary. Good vision including close, distance, peripheral vision and depth perception is required.
