About the Role

Penrith City Council is looking for committed, enthusiastic and passionate individuals for a 12-month Business Administration Traineeship. This role offers an opportunity to complete a Certificate III in Business while gaining valuable industry experience in a supportive environment. The traineeship commences in early 2025.

The Business Administration Trainee will support various departments by ensuring administration activities run smoothly and effectively. Areas include Children's Services, Community Facilities and Recreation, Engineering Services, Financial Services, Future Directions and Resilience, Governance, Information Management, Legal Services, and Library Services.

Essential Criteria

  • Commit to required study (TAFE attendance and coursework submission).
  • Willingness to take on tasks as directed by supervisors.
  • Ability to work independently with proactive initiative.
  • High level written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer and clerical skills (Microsoft Office suite).
  • Driver’s licence (provisional acceptable for some departments).
  • No prior Certificate III or higher in Business.

Salary and Checks

Commencing salary: $827.40 - $947.70 per week plus 12% Superannuation. Employment checks may include Criminal History, Qualification, Working with Children, Medical Declaration, and/or Functional Tests.
