Advanced Practitioner – Heart & Vascular ICU (HVICU) at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center

This state-of-the-art 20-bed unit delivers world-class care for critically ill patients undergoing complex cardiac and vascular procedures, including coronary artery bypass, valve replacement, and advanced aortic surgeries.
Role Overview: Physician Assistant, Heart & Vascular ICU
As a Full-Time Advanced Practitioner (NP or PA) in the Heart & Vascular ICU, you will play a crucial role, working alongside a dedicated multidisciplinary team. This team includes intensivists, anesthesia residents, and other advanced practice providers. Your responsibilities will involve managing critically ill patients, many of whom require advanced mechanical support such as Ventricular Assist Devices (VADs) and Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO). Additionally, you will perform essential invasive procedures, including the insertion of central lines, dialysis catheters, arterial lines, and bronchoscopy.
