Job Description
Purpose of Job
To coordinate, develop and facilitate orientation and continuing education for all Surgical Services Associates in conjunction with providing OR nursing services.
Essential Functions
- Coordinates, develops and facilitates orientation, competencies and continuing education for all Surgical Services Associates (OR, SDS, PAT, PACU and anesthesia techs).
- Demonstrates clinical proficiency and maintains knowledge base of hospital department and regulatory policies in order to serve as a clinical resource and mentor to the Surgical Services Associates.
- Actively participates in and supports departmental and organizational quality initiatives and goals.
- Provides nursing care in a manner that promotes quality and patient safety.
Job Qualifications
Education: BSN required, MSN preferred
Experience: At least three years of operating room experience
Other Certifications: BLS for Healthcare providers required, ACLS preferred
Other Skills: Computer skills with EMR and Microsoft Products. Excellent interpersonal and team building skills.
